David Frost left school in 1983 and started work in David Phillips Harris & Whalley solicitors at the Liverpool city centre office in 1985 having been taken on as the book keeper. Within a few months of starting David began assisting the fee earner and partner in that office with all aspects of their work from criminal matters to conveyancing.

In 1988, by the time David Phillips Harris & Whalley had developed into David Phillips & Partners, David was assisting the fee earners in the office on a full time basis and beginning to develop his own case load specialising in personal injury matters.

David joined Quinn Melville in 1995 now managing his own case load covering all types of personal injury matters and supervising other staff in the firms civil litigation department.

In 2002 David took on responsibility for the legal costing of the civil litigation department.

In 2005 Quinn Melville civil department developed into the practice of Quinn Melville Barrow LLP with David maintaining his duties in Quinn Barrow, the part of Quinn Melville Barrow LLP that handles civil litigation. In addition, David works in Quinn Melville handling criminal work assisting the partners with complex fraud and Proceeds of Crime cases.
